Community Spotlight: Meet Our Community Partners
Each month, we’re proud to spotlight a community partner who has gone above and beyond to support Cumberland County Schools. This month, we are excited to recognize Mr. Gilbert Baez, the recipient of the Committed Community Support Award.
The Committed Community Support Award honors an individual or group for their dedicated and selfless contributions to the school system. December's recipient, Mr. Gilbert Baez, has been an unwavering supporter of CCS through his fair and balanced reporting on the district’s achievements and challenges. Beyond his journalism, Mr. Baez has personally invested in our schools, volunteering his time to speak with students and staff, inspiring them with his experiences in journalism.
He has also served as the enthusiastic and professional emcee of our annual STARward ceremonies, showcasing his deep commitment to celebrating the accomplishments of our students and staff. His dedication to sharing the stories of CCS with integrity has strengthened our connection to the community and reinforced trust and support for our mission.
Through his reporting and volunteer efforts, Mr. Baez has left a lasting, positive impact on CCS and our community. We are deeply grateful for his partnership and commitment to supporting student success.
