Becoming a Bus Driver
To become a bus driver for Cumberland County Schools, you must meet the
following requirements:
Be at least 18 years old
Have a valid CDL and must be a licensed driver for a minimum of 6 months
Pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a DOT medical card as required by the FMCSA
Pass qualifications as determined by NCDMV
Pass Pre-Employment drug screening.
Steps to Become a Bus Driver for Cumberland County Schools
1) Fill out an application online.

2) Once the background check is complete, all applicants who are eligible for hire will receive an email from the Transportation Office.
