Cumberland County Schools is proud to share that Walker-Spivey Elementary School has been named one of just 190 schools nationwide to receive the prestigious Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation from the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).
"This achievement is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team,'" said Rachael Robinson, the principal at Walker-Spivey Elementary School. "I truly appreciate the commitment to our students and their growth. We will continue to focus on providing the best learning experience for our students."
Now in its 21st year, the RAMP award honors schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to providing a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and fostering an exceptional educational environment. Since the program began, over 1,600 schools have earned the prestigious RAMP designation.
“This year’s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession,” said Jill Cook, the executive director of ASCA. “These schools used data to inform their program development and implementation so all students can achieve success. RAMP designation distinguishes these schools and encourages school counselors nationwide to strive for excellence.”
Walker-Spivey Elementary, along with the other 2025 RAMP-recognized schools, will be celebrated at a special ceremony during the ASCA Annual Conference in Long Beach, California, this July, in recognition of their outstanding commitment to school counseling excellence.
RAMP-designated schools can now be found in 47 states nationwide. The designation remains valid for five years, after which schools must reapply to retain their status. This year’s RAMP recipients will need to submit a successful application by Monday, October 15, 2029, to maintain their designation. Notably, 35 schools earned Re-RAMP status this year.
