Inclement weather announcement for 02.20.25

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) will transition to an asynchronous remote learning day on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, due to icy road conditions and low temperatures expected to continue into tomorrow. CCS employees will work remotely on Thursday. This decision, made in consultation with emergency management personnel, prioritizes the safety of students, staff, and families.

What This Means for Students
All students will complete assignments independently at home.

  • Elementary and middle school students have five days to submit their work; high school students have three days.

  • Students enrolled in classes at Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville Technical Community College, or College Connections should contact their instructors for specific guidance.

Closures and Cancellations for Thursday

  • All district events and after-school activities, including athletic practices and competitions, are canceled.

  • The Prime Time Before and After School Program will be closed.

  • District offices and school buildings will also be closed, with employees working remotely.

  • Essential employees should await guidance from their supervisors.

  • Employees with questions should contact their direct supervisors.

Staying Informed
CCS will continue monitoring road conditions to determine if adjustments to Friday’s schedule are necessary. Families will be notified of any changes through ParentLink, and updates will be shared on the district’s website and social media channels. The district will provide updates only if there are changes to the schedule.
