Mission:

Cumberland County School Psychologists will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students that strengthen connections between home and school and enhance the mental health and educational competence of all children.

About Us:

The Cumberland County School Psychological Services program consist of 27 full and part-time school psychologists that have completed a specialist-level degree program (a 60-hour master's degree program) and one-year full time internship.  Some CCS School Psychologists have obtained additional licensure by the NC Psychology Board.  Many members of our staff are National Certified School Psychologist.

School Psychologists provide a range of services to support student's academic achievement and social emotional well-being.  These include supporting the development, training, and implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS), training and consulting with each school's Student Services Team (SST), providing support with conducting Suicide Assessments, and providing group and individual counseling to students in need.  We also work with schools on data analysis, teacher consultation, crisis counseling, and conducting special education evaluations.

The  National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) site contains helpful information for parents and teachers concerning development stages, mental health issues, and strategies for academic success.
