About Prime Time:
Cumberland County Schools' Prime Time is a 3-star licensed North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE) before and after school program. Since its start in 1990, Prime Time has been a trusted provider for thousands of families in Cumberland County.

Program Goals:

Prime Time's goal is to help children to develop to their fullest potential by focusing on:
*Physical and recreational skills
*Self-awareness, confidence and feelings of self-worth
*Promoting creativity and self-expression
*Fostering independence and decision making
*Helping children develop social skills and interpersonal relationships

Locations:
Prime Time has the potential to offer before and after-school care at all Cumberland County elementary schools. A minimum of 15 participants is required. To view all Prime Time locations, visit Prime Time Locations webpage. 

Curriculum & Schedule:
The Prime Time curriculum is creatively planned to meet all NCDCDEE State standards to best fit the children's interests and needs in our care. The curriculum will include sports, science, arts & crafts, building, dramatic play, music, special events, and problem-solving activities. Both staff-instructed and self-instructed activity options are available. Prime Time understands how busy families are today, so homework time is available as an activity option every day!

Program Staff:
When it comes to staff, Prime Time's standards are as high as yours. All staff undergo a criminal background fingerprint check before hiring and every three years thereafter. They are required to have a physical exam, tuberculin test (TB), and complete a 15-hour orientation before working with children. All staff is expected to become certified in Infant, Child, and Adult First Aid/CPR and maintain the certification throughout their employment. A minimum of 15 hours of ongoing professional development is completed annually.

The Prime Time staff must qualify for their position based on the education and training requirements of the State of North Carolina.

Financial Aid and Discounts:
Full-time employees of Cumberland County Schools may be eligible for an employee discount. Prime Time accepts Department of Social Services (DSS) child care vouchers.  Parents are encouraged to contact their DSS caseworker for details.
