Leading Beyond the Classroom Talent Pathway

Purpose
The purpose of the Leading Beyond the Classroom Pathway is to offer aspiring teacher leaders an opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to serve in leadership capacities throughout our district. This pathway is one of the first to launch as part of the “CCS Talent Pathways for Premier Professionals” initiative, with training scheduled to begin in January 2020.

The Program
The Leading Beyond the Classroom Pathway will allow fully-licensed CCS teachers to choose between several areas of interest for training and development. Areas that teachers can currently select include:
 The Aspiring Instructional Coach Academy
 The Aspiring Assistant Principal Academy
 National Board Certification
 Leaders for English Language Learners

General Program Expectations
Training sessions will be scheduled monthly, beginning in January 2020. Although there may be specific expectations that vary by area, general expectations are as follows:
 Attendance and active participation in all sessions
 Successful completion of all modules and reflections
 Observations of current practitioners in the identified areas of interest, with reflections completed for these expectations
 Application of new learning
