Fayetteville, N.C. – Cumberland County Schools (CCS) reminds all parents and caregivers to ensure students are up to date on immunizations required by state law.

Immunization Requirements for Students

“The required immunizations help us keep our students safe and healthy,” said Shirley Bolden, director of Health Services for CCS. “Together, we can ‘stomp out childhood disease … immunize, please!’”

The 30-day ’grace period’ for Immunizations will begin on October 1, 2020. Students enrolled in kindergarten and students who are attending a North Carolina public school for the first time must also submit an NC Health Assessment Transmittal Form.  Parents and caregivers have until October 30, 2020, to present the required immunization record and health assessment transmittal form for their child. Beginning Nov. 2, 2020, students will not be allowed to attend school until the required immunizations and health assessment transmittal form has been presented.

Immunizations can be obtained by scheduling an appointment at the child’s healthcare provider or at the local health department.
