Fayetteville, NC – Following the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr., the Cumberland County Board of Education approved two major leadership appointments during Tuesday night’s Board meeting. Jason Jordan will serve as principal of Massey Hill Classical High School and La’Shanda Carver-Moore has been named the Director of School Support for middle schools.

Jordan, who has served as an assistant principal in Cumberland County Schools for nearly 10 years, has worked at Gray’s Creek High School and W.H. Owen Elementary School. He has a career in education that spans 17 years and includes working as an adjunct percussion teacher at Methodist University and Appalachian State University.

“I am excited about coming to one of the best schools in Cumberland County,” said Jordan. “I truly consider it an honor to be the principal of Massey Hill Classical High School’s students and staff.”

Carver-Moore currently serves as principal of Westover Middle School. She began her career in 1998 as an English/Social Studies teacher at Lewis Chapel Middle School. She went on to serve as the school’s instructional coach and assistant principal.

“I’m looking forward to and am excited about being able to see what other schools are doing to achieve growth,” said Carver-Moore. “My goal in this position is to truly work with school leadership teams by coaching and supporting them and building their instructional leadership capacity.”
