Image of young man playing the cello on a stage during an orchestra festivalAt the beginning of each school year, members of the String Orchestra faculty visit elementary schools to present a brief concert introducing the String Orchestra program to fifth-grade students. This year, members of the String Orchestra faculty were scheduled to visit elementary schools from September 4 through September 6. The orchestra faculty was able to successfully visit and play for students at many elementary schools on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 3 and 4. However, due to school cancellation for inclement weather on Thursday and Friday, September 5 and 6, the school visitation schedule has been revised.

To encourage parent support of their child’s desire to participate in the elementary Orchestra program, a series of Orchestra Parent Nights are held at the middle or high schools in each attendance area. Due to the delay of school visitations, some Orchestra Parent Night events have been rescheduled. If you have any questions, please contact the Arts Education office at Central Services at
