CCS to Close September 5-6

Fayetteville, NC – Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is working closely with Cumberland County Emergency Management officials to monitor the path of Hurricane Dorian. Based on weather projections and the State of Emergency issued by Gov. Roy Cooper, the school system will be closed on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6 for all students and staff. 

  • Prime Time will be closed on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6. 
  • All after-school activities and events are canceled on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6.
  • Wednesday, October 16 will now be a full day of school for all students and Monday, October 21 will be a make-up day for all students.

“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority,” said CCS’ Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr. “We encourage everyone to take the necessary precautions to prepare for the storm and be safe.”
