E.E. Miller Elementary, Anne Chesnutt Middle, and Reid Ross Classical Middle and High Schools gathered on July 10 to kick-off yet, another successful school year!

The nearly 200 employees filed into the auditorium at the Educational Resource Center for CCS’ 2019-2020 Year-Round Schools’ Convocation. This year’s theme: “Setting Sail: Strategic Plan 2024” highlighted ‘all-things nautical’ as each Passenger (CCS’ Employees) boarded the CCS Cumberland ready to ‘cruise.’

Information was presented to the group about Cumberland County Schools’ Strategic Plan 2024. Some Passengers from each school were selected to participate in “Name the Strategic Priorities and Actions” game show which fast became a ‘big hit.’  Equity Leadership Coach Graig Meyer from the Equity Collaborative served as the keynote speaker and shared helpful information with the educators about becoming culturally responsive in order to reach and teach ALL students.

The Year-Round School Convocation ended on ‘a high note’ as each Passenger left the CCS Cumberland excited about empowering their students to have a successful 2019-2020 school year.

All year-round schools in the CCS open their doors to students on Monday, July 22.
