The Cumberland County Schools’ annual retirement social was recently held at the Educational Resource Center to honor educators that are retiring from the school system. This event is a celebration recognizing the commitment and contributions that each educator has made throughout his/her career. The event began with light refreshments and a time of fellowship. Associate Superintendent of Human Resources Ruben Reyes began the program by sharing images of what technology used to look like to show how education has evolved. Acting Superintendent Dr. Mary Black and School Board Chair Donna Vann both spoke words of encouragement and shared their well-wishes for the retirees. Motivational speaker Micheal Mozingo sang inspirational songs and shared life stores from his career as an educator. Approximately 87 retirees were honored during the event.
