AASA, the School Superintendents Association, recently awarded the Cumberland County Schools with a $2,000 mini-grant to help us meet the health, social service and academic needs of individual students and families who were impacted by Hurricanes Florence and Michael.

Today, Cumberland County Board of Education Chair Donna Vann, Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr. and district leaders presented four $500 gift cards to families who were impacted by the storms.

“We are thankful for the mini-grant from AASA,” said Dr. Connelly. “Some families are still picking up the pieces and navigating through hardships caused by the storms, and this mini-grant is helping us provide much-needed support to them.”
