Cumberland County Schools had five students qualify to be a part of the 168-voice middle school NC Honors Chorus from the 802 auditioned.

Gabriel G. (ACMS), Abby H. and Georgia R. (GCMS), Selah A. (JGMS), and Haven L. (MWMS) participated in a two-day clinic and concert this weekend in Winston Salem at the NC Music Educators Association conference.  They were directed by Tom Shelton, Associate Professor of Sacred Music at Westminster Choir College and National President of the American Choral Directors Association.

The concert was glorious.  Apollo was chosen by Shelton to be a featured soloist in the concert.
