The Cumberland County School system was notified Friday, August 17 that it is the recipient of a School Mental Health Support Personnel Grant for $401,100.00 from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

In an effort to reduce school violence and increase the well-being and mental health of students, the monies will be used to develop School-based Care Review Teams (SCRT) comprised of a school nurse, and a school counselor or a school social worker. The Teams will support schools throughout the district, maximizing the effectiveness of CCS’ Student Services Department to meet the need of students.
