Blue and white Academy for Health Sciences LogoCongratulations to Westover High School’s Academy of Health Sciences for recently being recognized as an Outstanding HOSA, Gold Star Chapter, a NAMI supporter, and for receiving the HOSA National Service Project during the NC HOSA State Leadership Conference in Greensboro. 

Westover High’s Project Lead the Way Teacher Kacheckia Dewitt was announced as the newly elected NC HOSA District 4 Adviser!

Also, the following WOHS students received top honors in Conference competitions:
Minnie Reeves – 3rd place Biomedical Laboratory Sciences
Jada Hawthorne –  Top 10 Emergency Medical Services
Kanaiza Carzo – Top 10 Emergency Medical Services
Lauren Lowe – Top 10 Job Seeking Skills
Cora Shaw – Top 10 Extemporaneous Healthcare Poster
Kanaiza Carzo – Received the Barbara James Service Award

Twenty students were recognized for completing the Healthcare Issue Exam 

Minnie Reeves and Cora Shaw have been invited to attend the HOSA International Leadership Conference from June 27 – 30 in Texas.
