CCS Gets Top NCHSAA Awards

During the May 3 NC High School Athletic Association’s Annual Meeting at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, Todd Edge, a coach at Cape Fear High School, received this year’s Homer  Thompson Memorial “Eight Who Make A Difference” Award. Sponsored by N.C. Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, the award acknowledges Edge’s ‘exemplary sportsmanship, dedication, and commitment to athletics.’ 
 
Cape Fear High School also won the NCHSAA Exemplary School Award, which recognizes the top overall school in the state in terms of the “total program” including but not limited to athletic success, the scope of athletic opportunities offered, facilities, community interest and involvement, academics, and quality of coaches.  Go, Colts!
