Principals from the winning schools of the #GoBeKindCCS Challenge holding bannersAs a way to bring a new perspective to a continued “bullying epidemic,” we decided to focus on replacement behaviors and emphasize the importance of kindness.  How a kind act can make the giver and the receiver.  We challenged our CCS students to help their school reach 5,000 kind acts over the month of October.  We had an ultimate goal of reaching 100,000 for the district!  This goal was achieved and exceeded!  CCS students, staff, and faculty completed 139,939 acts of kindness during the month of October.  We had 5 schools recognized for the number of acts they completed individually.  We had a high school winner, a middle school winner, a secondary small schools of choice winner, a large elementary winner, and a small elementary winner.

South View HS was the High School winner with 2960 completed acts of kindness

John Griffin MS was the middle school winner with 1269 completed acts of kindness

Cross Creek EC was the school of choice winner with 503 completed acts of kindness

Honeycutt Elementary was the large elementary winner with 16,310 completed acts of kindness

and Mary McArthur was the small elementary winner with 21,837 completed acts of kindness

Although the month of October is over, this initiative is not!  We are asking schools and school personnel to keep this message going.  To keep emphasizing kindness and why it is important!
