Welcome back, we hope you will stay!About 50 former Cumberland County School (CCS) students attended the Get-Back-in-School Launch Party on July 20. The purpose of the event, which was held at A.B. Wilkins High School, was to reach out to students not currently enrolled in school and to invite them to re-enroll.  School counselors and social workers were on hand to review transcripts and to help students make decisions about their future.  Local colleges and universities, military recruiters, and community agencies were also available to talk with students and their families.  During the event, a drawing was held to give away five backpacks filled with school supplies donated by Carolina Outreach.  Students and their families were also treated to lunch by the CCS’ Child Nutrition Department.

If you missed the event, it’s not too late to ‘drop back in!’  Students interested in returning should visit their high school and talk with a school counselor or a school social worker for further assistance.
