Students participate in group activity at Max Abbott Middle SchoolMax Abbott Middle School AIG students recently participated in an Engineering-On-the Road program presented by the UNCW School of Engineering.  Students were introduced to many fields of engineering and taught that engineers have a mindset to solve problems through communication, collaboration, creativity, and optimism.  Students participated in a hands on Industrial Engineering activity in which they were required to draft a prototype of a thank you card, outline a process for developing their card, produce the product in mass amount, and then evaluate their productivity, efficiency, and quality.  Students quickly learned that sometimes it is necessary to make changes to processes in order to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
