video cameraWant to create a healthier learning space at your school by developing a walking trail, promote a family wellness night, purchase workout equipment but don’t have the funds?  Well, look no further.  The Office of Health Services, School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), and District PTA are hosting the 2017 Creating Healthy Schools video contest. All CCS’ elementary, middle and high schools are asked to create a Public Service Announcement (PSA) that shows why it is important to live a healthy lifestyle and how they can create a healthier learning environment.  The two school’s video with the most ‘likes’ will win $500 for their wellness initiative.  All videos should be submitted to VideoContest@ccs.k12.nc.us by March 24, 2017. If your school is up for the challenge, contact your principal or Angela Hurley, Healthy Eating and Active Living Liaison at 910.678.2419.
