The Cumberland County Schools congratulates Kendra Adams from Westover High School who was recently recognized at the State EC Conference in Greensboro as an Exceptional Children’s (EC) Teacher of Excellence!

Adams is an EC Teacher who has worked with students on the Autism Spectrum for more than seven years.  She teaches the Extensions to the Standard Course of Study to a wonderful group of students with ASD at Westover High School in Cumberland County.  She is a master teacher and despite the inherent challenges students with autism and significant cognitive disabilities have, she makes teaching look easy.  Her classroom is a place where students truly grow and reach toward their potential.  She loves technology and innovation and creates an environment that fosters the use of technologies for communication, learning, and leisure skills so that her students have the same types of access at school as typical students.
