Treasurer Cowell selected Ferguson-Easley as one of her 529 Savings Account Project Schools. The NC 529 Accounts are savings accounts designed to help families set aside funds for future college costs.  The account is in the student’s name. While in the media center Treasurer Cowell, along with representatives from  PNC Bank, taught a financial literacy class to the FEES kindergartners because they firmly believe that “every minute counts.

Media Coordinator, Beverly McClellan, wrote this rhyme for the kindergartners to recite to the visitors:

To increase my knowledge,
I plan on finishing college,
Because going on to school,
Will make me twice as cool.
