Board Gives ‘Thumbs Up’ to Two 2015-2016 Proclamations
The nine-member Board approved proclaiming October 26 – 30, 2015, as Red Ribbon Week in the Cumberland County Schools. During this week, the Board resolved to “encourage all citizens to participate in drug prevention activities, as a visible statement that we are strongly committed to a drug-free community.”

Members of the Board also voted to proclaim November 9 – 13, 2015, as School Psychology Awareness Week. The week-long observance is geared to help citizens of Cumberland County “recognize the vital role that school psychologists play in the personal and academic development of our County’s children and the special training they receive to deliver a continuum of mental health services and academic supports that lower barriers to teaching and learning.”
