2012-2014 Technology Plan Approved The Technology Plan recommended by the Curriculum Committee was approved by the Board. The Plan, which highlights the district’s current work and movement forward in technology, addresses the following five strategic priorities: (1) shared services; (2) universal access to personal teaching and learning devices; (3) access to digital teaching and learning resources including digital textbooks; (4) model of technology enabled professional development; and (5) 21st Century leadership. Specifics regarding the year-by-year plan will be posted on the CCS’ Technology Web page in the coming weeks.
CTE Local Plan Gets ‘Thumbs Up’ The Board approved the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Local Plan for 2012-2013. The strategic plan, which is ultimately an application for federal funding, highlights the program’s services and activities, service area, partnerships, and customer and stakeholder groups. The Plan looks at how CTE will be evaluated based on the program’s performance indicators. To review the 127-page document, visit the CTE Web page and click on Local Plan. Cooperative Agreement Extended The cooperative agreement between the CCS and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) has been extended through 2013. VRS provides services for eligible students that will assist them with the transition from high school into the workplace setting.
Local Service Providers for School-Based Program Approved Four partner agencies have been approved to act as providers in the School-Based Mental Health Program for the next three years. Advanced Placement BHHS, Yelverton’s Enrichment Services, Inc., Community Innovations, and Melange Health Solutions LLC will be able to provide outpatient mental health therapy (individual and group) on school campuses throughout the district.
