Welcome to the 2016-2017 edition of the North Carolina School Report Card, a resource for information about student achievement, the school environment and student safety at the state, district and school levels for this past school year. As a district, 80% of CCS schools met or exceeded expected growth. The state average was 73.7%.
For the third year, school performance grades (A-F), as required by the state law, are included on the school-level Report Cards. While these Report Cards allow for school comparisons, since schools are structured differently, we encourage you to visit the school and speak to the principal, teachers and other parents to learn more about the special programs, school structure, and learning environment to decide what may best meet your child’s educational needs.

Parents and stakeholders have an important role to play in the education of our students. We have several ways to communicate with you so that you can be more involved. Our current systems allow us to e-mail, text, or call you at various phone numbers. If you haven’t signed up to access the parent portal, please contact your child’s school. The site administrator will provide you with a password. It will allow you access to confidential information on your child such as grades and attendance.
